TEST DRIVE

Want to test out the setting? Not sure if your character is a good fit? Need to start gathering some samples? You're awake. You're lying on a cold floor, and your head is pounding. It feels like you've been hit with a sledgehammer. You can barely move, but you push yourself up anyway, and look around. You're in an unfamiliar warehouse, and on your left wrist is a bracelet. It feels heavy, and no matter how hard you tug at it, it refuses to come off. You can't remember how you arrived here, nor do you recognize anyone else. Try not to panic too much. ( For the purposes of the Test Drive, characters will be arriving in the warehouse instead of the Elevator/AB Room) option two. An Ambidex Game has just concluded. You have entered in your vote and there's no turning back. Did you trust your opponent and vote ally? Or did you double-cross them and vote betray? What did your opponent do? Did they vote betray while you voted ally, or did they vote ally while you voted betray? Why did you choose one or the other? Just what did you do? option three. Rules are meant to be broken. You've just reached a certain amount of BP, and you can finally have access to food (low or high quality) or to the dorms. It's great, things are getting a bit more bearable now, but seeing the others without the same "luxuries" as you, you feel like you should do something. It's against the rules to bring food or blankets out of their respective rooms, but Zero can't have eyes everywhere... can he? option four. Exploration and Escape. All the windows are bolted shut, and all the doors are locked. The exit is through the number 9 door, but no one can reach it until they have 63 BP. It'll take too long to wait for help to arrive, and to accumulate that many points. There must be some way out. Maybe if you search enough, you can find a tool to help you break down a door. option five. Wild Card. Want to try something else? Go for it! Have your own AB Game round, have characters argue against each other, try to keep the mood cheery, whatever! Make full use of the environment and mechanics, just remember to keep it within the game's structure.

[ ...After waking up, Junpei ignores the pounding in his head (and the weird fact that he can't seem to remember very much anymore) for a much more important concern: this thing on his wrist. ]

You know, I don't think I've ever seen a watch like this...unless it's an hour-only watch. Not very practical, but the perfect gift for someone who thinks time is all relative.

[...How do you even crack jokes at a time like this? Sasuke glances over, one hand rubbing at his temple in an effort to ease some of the pain.]

...I don't think anyone would design a watch that way.

What, you have a better explanation for these things?

[ Holding up his wrist to indicate the bracelet there. ]

I mean, there've been weirder trends in the past...

I just don't think someone would kidnap us all just so they could give us trendy watches.

[...Although what exactly they're for still eludes him. He examines his own, giving it a sharp tug and finding that it stays quite fast in place.]

I don't know. I'd rather believe this is some weird marketing ploy than a way that a bunch of insane kidnappers try to number us or something.

This is a little too weird even for a marketing ploy, don't you think?

[And glancing between the two watches...]

Besides, numbering us isn't right - we've both got the same number.

[Different colors, though. Wonder what that could mean...?]

See? Means it's less likely that a creepy kidnapper put these on us, since there'd be no reason for it.

The only reason we'd both have threes is if it's three o'clock. We can't both be number 3.

[He frowns, a hand going to his chin as he tries to think. It's like his mind has gone blank ever since he woke up here...

He knows his name. Sasuke Sagami, of course. But other than that...

Then tell me what you were doing before you got here, at least. Did someone ask you to model some watches?

[He says it about as earnestly as one can without really believing what they're talking about.]

[ Trying to remember...but nope, drawing a blank. ]

That...that's, uh, a good question.

[It's slight, but his eyes narrow a fraction.]

Then what do you normally do? Are you some kind of student?

[It's the best he can guess based on Junpei's appearance.]

[ Trying to recall, but that just makes his head pound harder, ow. ]

...I guess? Seems as likely as anything else...

You guess? You aren't sure?

[ ...Kind of getting uncomfortable with the repeated questioning. ]

...Well, what about you? What do you do, then?

[There's a significant pause, and then:]

...I don't remember.

I'm sad they won't have memories but I had to join this test drive

*Snake is also still shaking off the effects of arriving here, unfortunately unaware of who he's really talking to.*

I take it you can't remove your watch either?

[ Giving it a few tugs, but....no dice. ]

Nah. Thing seems to be practically bolted on.

*Snake feels around his watch, touching the face of it and noting it has buttons on either side.*

Well this is going to be rather inconvenient... *Until he pushes a button and the watch helpfully tells him how many BP he has, his color and the fact he's part of a pair.*

Oh. It has a voice function. Is it universal?

Woah, fancy. Didn't know these things were capable of that...

[ Looking at his watch, and noting that there aren't any buttons. ]

Looks like you have a more advanced model or something, I guess.

Or our esteemed kidnappers decided to take pity on me instead of torturing the blind for fun. What does your watch say?

Uh...3, solo. No idea what 'solo' has to do with anything, but that's what it says.

Hmmm. Well, let's think about this. If I'm part of a pair and you're a solo, then this...game we find ourselves in has distinct designations. *Snake rubs his chin in thought.*

Charming, but I don't think this is actually a watch.

[Though honestly, Clive has no fucking clue what else it's supposed to be. He instinctively tugs at it to try and take it off, but the bracelet has his wrist in a total death grip. Flipping it over, he discovers that there isn't even any sort of buckle or clasp on it.]

Is this thing even possible to remove...?

Looks more like a watch than anything else, though.

[ So until further information has come in...it's a watch. ]

But uh, I don't think so. I couldn't get it off, at least.
