Ahhh I'm the first maybe, let's see when this goes up.

Hello! I'm Hal, a girl just to clarify since most people think I'm a dude for a while. I'm playing Professor Layton from his namesake series, only as you can see he's an afro teenager because why make things easier for him by taking him from a time where he's a somewhat competent adult.

My plurk is [plurk.com profile] dichotomy, please feel free to add me. Otherwise the best way to get in touch with me is through PMs or hitting up my HMD or something along those lines. Besides any of that it's been over a year since i've been in an rp comm, dusting myself off a bit here so let me know if I'm being awful somehow >B( I'm very excited to murder puzzle game with you all, I've been waiting forever for a Zero Escape game.

I am super glad to see that people are still playing Layton out there. He's a pretty rare character!

I'm also sorry in advance that Froshel is stuck with Jake for the first Nonary Game round. He's a real gem. :')

Yeah, honestly I was shocked when I put in my reserve and saw a Clive was around too, it's a pretty rare canon. Makes it easier to find games without him taken though B)

Froshel's a doormat, he'll probably get by. I'm actually really excited to see Jake develop some as he gets his memories back, boy has it been a while since I played RE6... or any RE game for that matter. Oh, also by the way it's nice to meet you, Ichi B) I'm gonna go ahead and friend you on plurk, if that's cool!
fairsfair: (( ´︿`))

[personal profile] fairsfair 2014-07-05 06:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it really is a rare canon. I used to play Layton a lot back in the day, so I totally get your shock from seeing a castmate, but it is true that you never have to worry about someone else playing Layton in a game!

It'll certainly be interesting to see everyone develop in this game! I'm really excited to see how it turns out.

And of course! I will add you back in just a moment. Nice to meet you too, Hal!

yeah i just saw your plurk icon and I was shocked! Let me tell you, I had to get my girlfriend to play the games just to get anyone to talk about them with, we live quite the hard life, us Layton fans. This is fantastic though, please let me know if I'm doing anything wrong, this is my first time playing this dude in a game so lord knows how that will go.

Me too, I can't wait for plotting between players and everything to start. And thanks B) I need to try to start using plurk more, it's been a while lmao

Yeah, it's hard because everyone just thinks it's a boring puzzle game. It's more than that, guys...!! Every ending in this series will punch you in the gut and rip out your heart. :'( But of course! I will let you know if I notice anything, and the same applies for Jake. If you see anything off, just let me know.

Haha, no worries, I don't use my plurk super often either. I'm on, but I don't plurk! But heck yeah, James Sunderland as your plurk icon. It's been a while since I've played any of the SH games, but it's a great series.

[personal profile] puzzlinglad 2014-07-05 07:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Right? I don't think I've emotionally recovered from the ending of Unwound Future still, talk about a punch in the gut- then again I think I cried a little at most of the endings so... don't even talk to me about Azran Legacy, I'm not ready for it to be over, sigh. But I absolutely will for Jake B) I'm excited to tag against him, what a weird pair they will be

That's me basically, just look at my karma :| and yeah James! SH2 might be my favorite game of all time, though I'm in your boat of not having played any of them in a while. I think my life calls for an RE and SH marathon one of these days now that I think of it
fairsfair: (( ′ ‸ ‵ 。))

[personal profile] fairsfair 2014-07-05 07:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Let us not talk about Unwound Future. I will never forget the pain it has given me ;; but oh man, I haven't gotten around to buying or playing Azran Legacy yet! I haven't had the time, but I know what the twists are and daaaaang... Level-5 really went all out. But we will see how well Hershel and Jake get along. It will be great. :')

Haha, we should clearly go through a marathon for both RE and SH soon. You can never have enough of them, especially the earlier entries.

Hello, nice to meet you Belmont! Great choice, Snake was always my favorite in the entire series which is why no ZE3 is killing me here I want him in it so bad

I'm going to go ahead and add you on plurk, if that's ok B)
blind_badass: (Oh really now)

[personal profile] blind_badass 2014-07-05 06:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Totally cool! If/when they make a ZE3, Snake's gotta be there!

Hopefully as one of main nine! That is a hope I will keep alive until the very, bitter end.

LMAO it's hard to talk ZE3 without spoilers, the theories you could make... but absolutely, so many questions in general. I can't wait to throw Hersh at Light though, I'm super curious to see how they get along B)

Although even if Snake wasn't a main character, what if they made him mission control or something? Not only that, where is Santa and what is he up to?

I must not have given your series a fair shake. I played the first game and finished it but not all the puzzles. Then I realized that having mastered it, it kind of takes the fun out of playing it again so that was the only game I played.
puzzlinglad: (2)

[personal profile] puzzlinglad 2014-07-05 08:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I actually think the first game, while really really good and charming is probably one of the weaker ones ultimately? Diabolical Box and Unwound Future, especially Unwound Future, are both really great, if you ever felt up to it I'd super suggest giving them a shot B) the new puzzles are all pretty great and there's a ton to do.
blind_badass: (well crap)

[personal profile] blind_badass 2014-07-05 09:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Good gravy, how many games are there? What order should I play them in?
puzzlinglad: (o21)

[personal profile] puzzlinglad 2014-07-06 10:09 am (UTC)(link)
there are six including curious village! there's also a movie and a crossover game with ace attorney but that's a whole other thing.

the order of release is curious village -> diabolical box -> unwound future -> last specter -> miracle mask -> azran legacy, which I think is the best way to play them B) the last three are technically prequel but they play better as flashbacks I think!

that said my suggestion would be play diabolical box then unwound future and if you aren't really digging them super hard by that point it's probably safe to say you won't enjoy the rest of the series, since the next three rely heavily on how endeared you are to the characters at that point :> I hope this was clear, I'm so bad at explaining things....

Hello Hal! It's nice to meet you. I don't know much about the Layton series unfortunately aside from puzzles and bad futures, but I think that's actually a good fit for a game like this.

it's a pleasure to meet you too :> i don't know much about tiger and bunny so we're in the same boat B) hopefully it's also murder puzzle friendly.... what a trait to have
